Aldo Buzzi transcribes in a notebook from 1983-90 – part of the Aldo Buzzi Archive at the Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense – Saul Steinberg’s description of the Bar del Grillo. He also talks about the music that was listened and danced to in the evenings, in the courtyard: ‘The dancer’s music: Maria, LAÒ, Tango, what did LAÒ mean? Tzigano violin, a media Luz and an infinity of Tango. There was also a record that surprised me: Bei mir bist du shein (By me you are beautiful) in Yidish sung by the Sisters’.
